Ideas for the 3rd Aim of UESI

ree

Firstly, it is important to separate our common understanding of the word: testimony from the 3rd aim of UESI. A reading of the aim statement will help us to recognise its broader scope that is beyond being a good witness. In simple words it means to present (raise a testimony) Christian beliefs and worldview in the context of life and problems of humankind.

So, if students face identity crisis  then our response can be to present a Biblical perspective on Identity (created in God’s image irrespective of caste, creed and etc).  This requires equipping our students in doctrines and worldviews as well as reaching out to the campuses through events and other means.

  • What is truth? - In a world where truth is subjective, we can present the biblical view that truth is absolute and rooted in God's character (John 14:6, Psalm 119:160).

  • Anxiety and Purpose – We can present the biblical view that God has a purpose for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 6:33).

  • Justice and Social Issues – When students engage in discussions on justice, oppression, or equality, we can show the  biblical view on justice— (Micah 6:8, Isaiah 1:17).

Reflect on these:

1. What are the truths of the historic Christian faith?

2. What are some of the common problems faced by students in your college? How does the Christian faith solve these problems? If you do not know what the solution is, how will you find one?

3. How can your EU work together with graduates to raise a testimony to the truth in your

college?
