Our camp was from March 29th to 31st, we had sessions covering topics from the How to study the Bible to the History of UESI and doctrinal talks such as the Sovereignty of God. It was a wonderful learning experience as 22 students from different parts of Bengal came together. We enjoyed getting to know each other, and the interactions and bonds we built allowed us to step out of our comfort zones. From the initial fear of meeting new people to the sadness of parting on the final day, this camp gave us the opportunity to transform into individuals who can take responsibility, lead our fellowships, and grow continuously.
Each session provided a fresh perspective on Christian life. One of the most impactful was the PBS session, led by Sister Leegain Phipon, where we learned to observe Scripture from different viewpoints—bird’s-eye view, ground-level view, and earthworm view—interpret its meaning, and apply it to our lives. Without application, PBS is meaningless—like cooking food and throwing it away without eating.
Although we didn’t have much time for hands-on engagement in GBS sessions, we observed one led by Minlun Bhaiya. He demonstrated how to effectively interact with members while leading Bible study and equipped us with the tools to start GBS sessions in our own colleges.
In the Heartcare session, Sister Jemima emphasized the importance of self-care and not neglecting our well-being. Another inspiring session, Igniting Chats, led by Brother Shakya Sinha, stressed the need to take initiative in conversations. If we don’t speak up, someone else will—and in a world filled with idolization, people may be led astray. We learned how to start meaningful conversations and share the Good News effectively.
The Social Media (Pop Culture) session, led by Sister Zyureep, student from JU, was another eye-opener. With social media overflowing with content, we were taught how to discern what is valuable, ignore the unnecessary, and navigate it with wisdom—just as Jesus walked on water. This session challenged us to reflect on societal pressures and how to overcome them to pursue our true purpose in life.
In the Purpose of Life session, Brother David helped us understand the role of our studies in fulfilling God’s purpose. It encouraged us to reflect on why we are pursuing our respective courses and how we can glorify God through academic excellence.
As members of UESI and leaders on our campus, we were equipped by the UESI Handbook sessions on the history of UESI, it's vision, aims and the life of an EU students. I had the opportunity to take the talk on History, Sis, Vitunali, another student from Burdwan and Sis Asa took the other talks.
The most profound session was on Doctrines, led by Brother Shashank Rawat. He explored foundational topics such as the Trinity and the sovereignty of God, which deepened our understanding and strengthened our faith in Christ. His teaching felt like a rollercoaster—exciting, thought-provoking, and inspiring—challenging us to think, imagine, question, and marvel at the works of God.
Throughout all these sessions, we were encouraged to ask questions, share our perspectives, and step beyond our self-centered viewpoints to see the bigger picture of God’s work. This experience strengthened our convictions, deepened our commitment to faith, and equipped us to stand boldly for the Lord.
