Trusting God in uncertain times

ree

Mary and Joseph were excited after Jesus' birth, who woudn't be! They had to do so much, get back home, buy baby stuff and so much more. But, it was not to be, at least not yet. Trouble was brewing!

King Herod fearing for his throne, took matters in his own hands. Since he had no way of identifying Jesus, he didn't take any chances and massacred all boys below the age of two. He could have simply turned to God, but he didn't!

In this time of turmoil, God asked Joseph to leave for Egypt. The time of celebration is cut short, an uncertain journey awaits. Where will they stay? What will they do? How will they survive? How long will they be gone? These questions may have disturbed his mind as well, but he soldiered on. How could he just trust and obey?

This is no blind faith. In fact, he had every reason to trust God, he had just seen God's faithfulness and awesomeness through the birth of Jesus. At the right time, God brought them back and in between, He sustained them as well. In our lives too, when moments of uncertainty come, let us look back at his past faithfulness and know that He is trustworthy.
