Living a Life of Faith

ree

How can we define faith?

Faith is being sure about something that is unseen. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Why do we need faith in real life?

Faith shapes our character for the perseverance of the future and assurance of what we are going to achieve. It helps us to sustain our ability to stay determined to our abilities and aspirations.

What is the purpose of faith in our life?

Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith, it is impossible to please Him." The only reason is that we can feel God but we cannot literally see Him in person. Many stories are quoted in the Bible where miracles happened, and every time Jesus has mentioned "But only through faith." No human being on this Earth is crafted without a purpose. Of course, we may have multiple reasons to live a life for, but the focused aim should be living a purposeful life that pleases God. It's as simple as this: If you believe that you are going to receive what you have prayed for, your waiting in faith will be much at rest as written in Mark 11:24.

Strong faith conquers temptations

The only way to get through is to follow the scripture that will lead to a close relation with Christ. Romans 5:3 says, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance." When we know who is leading us, then we don't have to worry about what's next.

Once we take a step, we need to only focus on consistency and growth. Even Jesus was tempted by the Devil. Imagine how confident Satan is to offer Jesus the kingdoms of the world despite knowing for a fact that the whole world actually belongs to the Father? Well! We still live in the same fallen world, so we should not be surprised when we are led to temptation and our faith is tested.

The last thing I would like to add is that the kind of 'life in faith' we are living should be reflected to the world through action. As the scripture says, "Faith without works is dead." Psalms 118:14 says, "The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation." Do we have this kind of faith today? Let us not get weary and anxious about anything. Remember, God is in control, and your little faith like a mustard seed will change everything in your life.
